But stunt coordinator Jeff Pruitt and his wife Sophia Crawford – who was Sarah’s stunt double – have now claimed Joss told them no one else would hire them after an on-set disagreement.

The couple, who became engaged while working on the show and are now married, worked with Joss for four seasons before things turned sour.

They also claimed to Metro.co.uk that Joss told Sophia to split up with Jeff if she wanted to continue working on the series, and when she refused, the couple found other directors were reluctant to hire them.

Jeff told the outlet: “We had a great relationship, Joss and I, but he changed as the show took off.

“He went from the humble writer who used to turn to me for ways to shoot fight scenes into a real egomaniac who believed his own hype.”

Jeff added he had become “fed up” with the backstage tensions by season four, and decided to leave to go and work on another series.

He recalled: “The producers told me that Joss reacted as if I was having an affair or something behind his back.”

Joss then had a meeting with Sophia, and she claims: “I really loved Buffy, but honestly Joss and Jeff had a bit of a falling out.

“But I was called into the office and I was given an ultimatum. And they said to me, ‘Come back to the show, but you need to leave Jeff, or don’t come back.’

“And so I basically started crying. And I said ‘F you. That’s horrible, bye.’”

Jeff claimed: “Joss told both Sophia and I that ‘no one will ever hire you again after this’.

“He never says to anyone that he’ll see to it you never work in this town again. He is very careful.

“He only insinuates that no one will ever hire you again if you don’t please him.”
