MANCHESTER UNITED have angered staff by putting up signs calling them ‘non-relevant’ in the car park of their Carrington training HQ.

The hard-working men and women behind the scenes were left infuriated after seeing the signs.

United chiefs moved to try and leave spaces between car park bays for players and coaches, separating them from training ground staff.

But the term ‘non-relevant’ has left staff feeling used and uncared for.

It comes amid fears that the second wave of coronavirus will force chiefs to call off professional games.

Football remains in the balance and more positive tests will force a rethink.

Leyton Orient have already been thrown out of the Carabao Cup after 18 positive tests.

West Ham boss David Moyes and two players also contracted it.

The sport was locked down in March as the pandemic spiralled out of control.

It returned in July behind closed doors but as numbers of virus infections and death escalate, clubs are doing everything they can to avoid postponing matches.

Tottenham even carried out TWO tests on each of their players ahead of their match with Shkendija in Macedonia in the Europa League on Thursday.

These sets of tests cost clubs £7,000 each time.
